Jess is the Associate Director at Hillel after serving as the Director of Leadership and Director of Engagement here. She continues to bring her passion for student development and engagement through overseeing the Student Life Team and supervising the Student Board. Jess is a proud Cal alum – GO BEARS! She enjoyed coming to Berkeley Hillel herself, and could be found on the grill every Wednesday helping cook for BBQ and behind the front desk as a DOFI!
After college, she participated in Avodah: the Jewish Service Corps, where she continued to nurture her connection to the Jewish community through social justice work. After returning to Cal for grad school in Education, Jess taught first grade in Oakland for six years before coming (back) to Berkeley Hillel. Outside of work, you can find her spending time with her husband, David, baby Asher, and dog Oso.
