Craig Exhibition of Jewish Engineering

The Annual L.J. and Alice Craig Exhibition of Jewish Engineering

For the first time, Berkeley Hillel is excited to invite Craig Scholars and other Jewish students enrolled in the School of Engineering to innovate on Jewish ritual and culture for the first annual Craig Exhibition of Jewish Engineering.

Participants are invited to select a Jewish ritual or cultural object and apply their area of scholarship to give it a modern makeover. Use your engineering prowess for the sake of hiddur mitzvah, beautifying the commandment.  Students should lean into creativity and thinking about the merging of engineering and Jewish ritual and culture.  Ideas can be physical in nature, digital, art, or any creative inspiration that highlights the beauty of the Jewish tradition.

Submissions are due by April 22nd and will be judged by a panel of Professors from different disciplines.  Award winners will receive an additional financial scholarship and will be presented at the final Jewish Community BBQ on Wednesday, April 29th.

Your submission must accompany an online form explaining the project, along with either the physical or digital object, by the April 22nd deadline.
