Book Club @ BBQ

Join us as we read Dara Horn’s acclaimed book of essays, People Love Dead Jews, and discuss the urgent issues, questions, and themes it inspires for us as living Jews in the 21st century. We’ll read the book in four parts and focus our discussion on: Personal identity and antisemitism, myths that shape our identities, Jewish safety and power, and what living a Jewish life means to us. While we’ll be getting into heavy themes such as intergenerational trauma, diaspora, and the complexities of antisemitism, we’ll be doing it together in a community of curiosity, trust, and care. And we’ll enjoy some delicious Kosher BBQ while we’re at it.

All meetings will take place from 6:30-8:00 pm on the following dates:

March 13: Personal Identity and Antisemitism, discussion of Introduction and chapters 1, 2, 3

March 20 : Myths that Shape our Identities, discussion of chapters 4, 5, 6

April 3: Jewish Safety and Jewish Power, discussion of chapters 7, 8, 9

April 10: Living a Jewish Life, discussion of chapters 10, 11, 12  Please sign up below!
