Challah for Hunger

Fall 2020: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related public health policies, this program will change for the fall semester

This semester, we are reimagining how we “bake by difference” by focusing on special projects like building our online presence, selling merchandise to support our philanthropies, and writing op-eds about important food issues for local and online media. We will also be volunteering with local food justice organizations, advocate for COVID-relief causes, and ideally re-introduce modified in-person braids when public health allows. Get excited to Braid like Berkeley!

In regular semesters, the UC Berkeley chapter of Challah for Hunger gathers weekly to bake, sell, and deliver challah and donates the money raised to Swipe out Hunger and a local anti-hunger partner, the UC Berkeley Food Pantry.
