Title: Co-Social Impact Chair

Class of 2022

What’s your favorite Berkeley Hillel memory?
Freshman retreat, both attending as a Freshman and planning as a Freshman Fellow
What’s your favorite Jewish food?
I love Latkes!
Why are you on the Board and what are you looking forward to most?
After hearing Rabbi Adam’s sermon on climate change during the High Holidays, I knew instantly that I wanted to contribute to Hillel’s efforts. I consider community service, community building, and environmental consciousness key applications of my Jewish values, and I joined the Board in the hopes of increasing students’ opportunities to engage in these activities. I am most looking forward to helping institutionalize the Climate Change Taskforce, and to seeing the tangible changes that our community can make toward the goal of improving sustainability.
What else are you involved with at UC Berkeley?
Outside of Hillel, I am Co-Legislative Director for ASUC Senator Haazim Amirali, where I focus on writing resolutions to improve the institutional structure of the ASUC. I am also Co-President of the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society, through which I practice my loves of hiking, backpacking, and bouldering. Additionally, I am a member and cook-shifter at Hoyt Hall Student Cooperative.
