What is your favorite Berkeley Hillel memory?
My favorite memories made at Hillel are the tradition of going to Shabbat with my friends and having something to look forward to at the end of each busy week. I have the opportunity to sit down for meals with my favorite people that have become like family to me.
What’s your Favorite Jewish Food?
Matzo ball soup and bagels with cream cheese and lox, because I can’t choose just one!
Why are you on the Board and what are you looking forward to most?
I am on the student board because I want to teach everyone about their opportunities within their community. The Jewish experience is complex and has many elements, including the universal theme of making a positive impact on the world. I’d like to be able to work with my peers to create a welcoming, sustainable space that also gives back to those in need. I am excited about empowering students to create change where they see it and I am most looking forward to working to create our Climate Change Task Force within Hillel.
What else are you involved with at UC Berkeley?
I am a work-study student at the Graduate Assembly of UC Berkeley, where we foster a space for our grad students to study and work on their research. I am also a member of Hillel’s Crafting Consent fellowship, which is a space for Jewish women to discuss and promote consent culture. I am also involved in environmental activism on campus.
